How a manufacturer of sanitary facilities successfully switched it's consolidation software

Success story Coram

Coram wasn’t satisfied with the performance of its existing consolidation software, so the company decided to switch to LucaNet. How smooth was the transition, and was LucaNet able to score points compared to the previous software solution?

Our old software no longer met our requirements. Speed was essential to us in our monthly reporting to the management board and shareholders. This is why we chose LucaNet.

The challenge

Finding a better consolidation software solution

As part of group consolidation, Jimmy Joosten, Group Controller at Coram, is responsible for supporting and monitoring the local subsidiaries. For this purpose, Coram implemented a specific consolidation software program from an international market leader before making the switch to LucaNet. “However, the previous software no longer met our requirements,” explains Joosten. “It didn’t give us the option to perform analyses, and it took a really long time to process things. Speed is essential to us in our monthly reporting to the management board,” adds Joosten. When exploring possible alternatives, LucaNet emerged as the favorite in the end. What clinched it for LucaNet’s consolidation software? Joosten: “Primarily the quick analyses made possible by the program as well as the option to set it up according to our preferences. The comparatively short implementation phase also impressed us.”

The solution

Phasing out the old software

Expectations were met, and the switch went smoothly. “Such a migration is obviously never without a certain degree of effort, but we actually didn’t encounter any major problems,” recounts Joosten. “While setting up LucaNet, we kept the old system running. After the go-live of LucaNet, we also carried out a like-for-like comparison of both systems for a month. We quickly realized though that the LucaNet software had adopted everything without any problems, and we could confidently say goodbye to our old software.”

Coram was extremely satisfied with the ability to set up LucaNet according to its own needs. “We created a number of our own templates in the package,” says Joosten. “We then compiled step-by-step guides for these, for example how to consolidate using a certain template. Hardly any IT skills are needed. These guides made it incredibly easy for us to also explain to our colleagues in Poland and Norway how LucaNet works.”

A worthwhile investment

A new consolidation software program obviously comes at a price. So, after having been used for some years now, has the investment paid off? “Absolutely,” reveals Joosten. “Before buying the software package, we thoroughly looked into what options it offered, and we actually use these options in practice. The software is also one of our company’s main programs. The purchase has therefore definitely been worth it.” At the same time, it was an investment for the future according to Joosten: “As long as LucaNet continues to evolve as it has done up to now, I don’t see any reason to switch.”
